<![CDATA[How To Choose A Good Web Host]]> http://templateaction.com/cms-template-help/how-to-choose-a-good-web-host/ What Is Web Hosting

In short, a web host is the remote computer that is setup as a server and is connected to the internet. Hosting companies provide servers that are setup to perform optimally for most websites and that are connected to the internet via a powerful network. Most web hosting companies also offer domain name registration services as part as their offering - a domain name is like a phone number that "points" to your specific server that hosts your website. When you type in your domain name in your web browser address bar, you are basically sending a request to your server, which loads your website in return!

There are 2 options available when it comes to choosing a good web hosting service: Using A "Fully Managed" Hosting Service or Getting Your Own Web Hosting Service.

Using A "Fully Managed" Hosting Service

For a no-hassle web hosting service, sign up for our fully managed hosting package! You'll never have to worry about domain name registration, website performance, security, setup, emails, databases, outages, and all that stuff that is extremely time consuming!

When we say fully managed - we mean it! Contact us if you have any questions.

Getting Your Own Web Hosting

We think the best overall web hosting company is site5! Their service is affordable, their servers perform really well, and their control panel is very intuitive and easy to use.

<![CDATA[How To Create A Database]]> http://templateaction.com/cms-template-help/how-to-create-a-database/ The general steps are the following:

  • First, you'll need to navigate to the area where you can manage/create your MySQL databases.
  • You should then have an option to create a new database and give it a name.
  • Then navigate to the area where you can manage/create your database users - often this option will be offered on the screen right after you created your database.
  • Create a database user - give it a username, and a password.
  • Lastly you need to make sure that the database user you created has all permissions over the database you created. Usually this can be achieved by editing your database user's option, or by editing the database's options. Many hosts automatically grant all permissions to the user you created when offered the option after the creation of the database.

You should end up with the following:

  • Your database name.
  • Your database user name.
  • Your database user password.
  • A way to administer your newly created database using PHPMyAdmin.

Remember - we can always do it all for you if you choose to get the CMS Template Installation Package, or the Fully Managed Hosting Package!
